This year's BSO annual meeting was dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of facial disfigurement.

With his 11 year experience of treating this group of patients Anil Banerjee was able to give delegates a summary of facial plastic surgical techniques he uses to reanimate patients with disfiguring conditions. This extends from complex rhinoplasties, to rerouting of nerves to paralysed muscles and advanced botox techniques.

Patients come from around the UK for treatment and The Facial Clinic he runs at the Leicester Royal Infirmary with colleagues Sanjay Varma and Raghavan Sampath is in the process of collating data on patient outcomes, which it hopes to be able to publish in the near future.
